Tree Folklore and Identification Walk

Time: 11:00 to 13:00 

Trees have been part of human consciousness since we encountered our first sapling. They've become part of our history, folklore and mythology, and to this day inspire workers, artists and scientists alike.

In this interactive workshop celebrating and exploring native Irish trees, Sissy from The Conservation Volunteers will take you on a guided tour of the Ulster Folk Museum grounds which is rich with flora and wildlife. You’ll have the opportunity to take bark rubbings, examine fallen twigs and leaves, and learn how to identify our native trees. Along the way you will also learn about the relationship humans have with trees in Ireland through folklore and how it links with what we now know about these trees.

Be warned, by the end you may wonder if you’re a changeling!
