Join Victoria Millar, Senior Curator of History at Duncrun Cottier’s House to learn how it was ingeniously constructed, and discover what it was like for a sizeable family to live in a two-roomed house without any electricity or running water.

Homes in Focus is a series of intimate talks that take place in the Ulster Folk Museum’s beautiful buildings where we’ll be diving deep into the lives of those who lived there and the history of these unique homes.

For our autumn iteration of Homes in Focus we’ll be gathering in Duncrun Cottier’s House which was the first exhibit building to open in the museum in 1963. Originally situated below the slopes of Binevenagh in County Londonderry, the house was occupied by several generations of the Doherty and Clyde families.

  • 13:00 to 13:45
